Heraldry like other aspects of family history is not limited by boundaries, and many Lancashire people have associations with other areas especially adjacent counties. Soon notes I made from Old Cheshire Churches published in 1947 will be available on the group's website as a download. The lastest inquiry from a Mr Donaldson who lives in Northumbria, has revealed that he was related to the Donaldson-Selby family of Chiswick House(Northumberland) who owned the Holy Island of Lindisfarne and whose arms are in the church there, the research continue, but there are many interesting connections including one between Strangways and Towneley c.1300.
